ok so anon(s?), you asked about “reverse genders” and stuff a lot, and i want to clarify that, like, you didnt explicitly state it but considering the vast majority of people think this way i want to say that, like

sex and gender arent the same thing

me and some friends have kind of been struggling to come up with a good name for this kind of thing, since stuff like “reverse gender”, “opposite gender”, “genderflip” “genderswap”, “genderbend”, they all have this gross implication that like…. like if you look at those drawings, its typically the “reverse gender” batman is now a woman with tits and a vagina, because tits and vagina = female, which is a really cissexist ideal

(also genderbender is a slur so theres an additional reason to avoid that one)

the best term ive seen so far, that my friend violet came up with, is ADAB, meaning assigned differently at birth, since it doesnt necessitate cissexist ideas of “gender” (meaning sex), or create a polarity where male and female are “opposites”, and again most importantly, equate sex and gender, when they are really different things

sex is your genital assignment, gender is your identity, so a “reversed gender” batman or superman or whoever would not necessarily be a cis woman, she could just as easily be trans, and its insulting to make the statement that in order for this male character to be a woman, she needs tits and a vagina. it isnt necessarily cissexist to MAKE a version of that cis male character that is a cis woman, but dont call it a change in gender, call it a change in sex assignment, where they were assigned something else a birth, if thats what you want to draw

yeah a lot of those terms grate on me because of all the stuff you said and there are more than two genders so 

OH yeah i forgot to mention that!!!! the other problem with “reverse” and “opposite” isnt just where it implies male and female are opposites but it ignores all the other genders that exist

I usually just see people using “Rule 63,” which I like it imagine is in fact a complicated algorithm defining the gender and anatomical configurations to which to change a character to based on their original state, but ADAB seems like a good one.
